Christopher was killed in aerial combat on 6th September 1916, in the Somme. his body was never found.

Notes:

 

Christopher was educated at the North eastern County School, Barnard Castle. He recieved early military training at the Officer's Training Corps Contingent attached to the school. 

Later, Christopher became a student at Armstrong College where he continued his training in the Durham University Officer's Training Corps. From there he passed to a commission in the Royal Flying Corps.
