James had been captured by the enemy and was made to work at the Schade Mine. He died as the result of an accident.

Family Details:

Born 20th October 1885. Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Raine of 49 West End Terrace,  Bridgegate. 

James was married on 4th March 1912 to Catherine Raine of 71 Bridgegate, they had children together.



Prior to the war James had worked at his father's coal delivery business. 

After his death his family received a scroll from His Majesty, King George.
