Thomas probably never enlisted in the military services. he was employed as a driver for the Government Locomotive Superintendent of the Palestine railways. His final job had been to take a motor trolley ahead of a train from Harta to Jerusalem that was carrying a VIP. On his return to Harta the trolley left the line and he was killed.
