Son of Patrick and Kate Finn of Bridgegate. His older brother John was also killed in action. 

Notes:

He won the first award of the Military Medal at Waincourt Ridge where his actions helped enable 250  prisoners to be taken. The medal was presented by Major Heslop, No 2 i/c the 6th D.L.I., in a packed Witham Hall in January 1918. The audience gave a prolonged standing ovation. The next day as Patrick was departing for London a group of friends gave him a gift of £5. Awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal when he took command of his company at the Battle of Lys in April 1918 and led his men under heavy shellfire and holding positions in the facen of overwhelminig numbers.
